UCHANU is open to students from the University of California's Education Abroad Program (EAP) in Vietnam, and to third- and fourth-year students from Hanoi University's Faculties of Management (FMT) and International Studies (IS). Students from the US will apply through their home campuses. If you're a HANU student and you'd like to apply, then you should prepare the following four documents.
1. an updated c.v.
2. a transcript showing your current grade point average at HANU
3. a short essay outlining what you'd like to achieve by taking the class
4. a short essay that answers the following question: "If you were born with supernatural powers, which of the following powers would you have, and what would you use them for?" Powers: ability to fly; ability to travel in time; x-ray vision; super hearing; invisibility; power to change forms; power to read minds; ability to see the future.
IMPORTANT: each document must fit on one standard A4 page, and no single document may exceed 350 words. Anything over and your application will be rejected. Note also that documents must be saved in a Word2003-compatible version. Once you're ready, attach them to an email. State clearly in the email subject heading what faculty you're from (FMT or IS), and that you're applying for the UCHANU 2010 class. Send the email to uchanu.vietnam@gmail.com.
The deadline for applications is MIDNIGHT, MARCH 14, 2010. Applicants who make it to the second round will be asked to attend an interview in late March. Thanks for your interest, and I can't wait to see which superpowers you choose.
